New to the city, time to find some work/ life balance and enjoy city life

I've been talked in to giving this thing a shot. Not sure what to expect or the best way to proceed so I guess I'll take it 1 step at a time:

So I’ve recently moved in to the city (DC) where I now live & where my company’s based. I've always wanted to give city life a shot & figured if I didn't do it now I probably never would. This move is 1 of many decisions influenced by my recent interest in finding a bit more balance out of life. By "balance" all I mean is I'm trying to proactively spend a bit more time having fun personally & less time focused on work. Don’t' get me wrong, my company is both a passion & hobby of mine but I can put a little more effort in to spending more time on what's ultimately most important (family & friends)

Since I'm on the topic of hobbies I'll start here. I’m the type that tries to get out & live life to the fullest & have a blast doing it. For example, I have a huge passion for travel. I've been to many cities in the US & seen quite a bit overseas. (many cities in Europe, Australia, Japan, South America, & Canada) There is, however, 1 caveat to much of my travel that I should note. W/ the exception of Europe, which I backpacked through for about a year after college, most of my travel has business related. Of course, I always try to find a window of time during each trip to take it in but it's rarely enough. I figure it's probably time to experience some of these trips alongside someone fun & interesting but only if the opportunity presents itself w/ a cool girl.

I will say, recently I’ve done a better job making the most of it. A few months ago I was out in San Francisco for a week so I took advantage of the trip & met up w/ friends in Napa/ Sonoma for a quick visit. W/ a family vineyard I’ve learned to appreciate good wine & love checking out cool vineyards around the world. Similarly, I've gotten in to scuba & don't think I'll go back. On a recent family trip down to the Caribbean we dove for 6 days. All I can say is if you've not given it a shot, you owe it to yourself to do so! And while you’re giving new things a shot, if you’re not in to it already, head out west some time & take up skiing/ snowboarding. It wasn’t until @ 5 years ago I was introduced to skiing & got hooked. The next step is snowboarding, which I’m just getting in to, but I’ve got plenty of time for that.

The other interest of mine I should probably highlight is a passion for working out. Whether it’s running, lifting or whatever, I try to get to the gym 4-5 days/ wk. I recognize that’s a big commitment of time but it’s 1 of those things I can’t imagine going w/out. I’ve def. hung out w/ girls that were able to get away w/ not having to hit the gym & in some ways I envy them. But truth be told, I find it to be far more than just a way to stay in shape. It’s my way to relieve stress & have fun doing so.

Of course I don’t expect to nor, am I interested in, finding a “perfect” girl that enjoys all the same things. In fact, quite the opposite, I appreciate girls in to their own hobbies. Don’t get me wrong, I’m def. interested, & more often attracted to, girls open to new things but I find it important for her to have her own interests.
